Question by nubianprncess_1: Anybody know of any great attorneys for speeding tickets in NC?
I got a cititation the other day, going 89mph in a 65 speeding zone. This is my first ticket, I need a attorney because I will not be able to appear in court on the specified date. I need a attorney that will for sure win my case. Yea I know I was wrong for speeding but I have been driving for 8yrs and have never had a speeding ticket or any ticket period I’m hoping they will give me a second chance!!! Any suggestions???

First, if you can not make the court date that the officer wrote, go to the clerk’s office in your county and explain why you can’t make it and they will set it for the officers next court date. As far as the speeding citation itself, being that it’s your first. You can represent yourself, no Attorney needed. Appear in court on the date. When the assist-D.A. calls your name walk up. He/she will ask if you intend to represent yourself in this matter? state ” Yes ” You will be ask to sign a waiver form which states you wave the right to have an attorney. D.A. then ask how do you plea? State ” No contest ” and then explain that this is your first citation could you receive a P.J.C. meaning in short term, I want to that again! and if you do, not only will that citation show up but the pjc one will also.
