On Line Dating Services: Mediacom Blocked My Phone Number.?
Question by gruneKühe: Mediacom blocked my phone number.?
So, I tried calling the Mediacom customer service line (8556334226) and it’s telling me “This account has been blocked from calling customer service”.
What’s the deal? It’s my first month with the service and I’m up to date on bills, my internet is still active and all that but I can’t call them. I called them 2 hours ago and asked a couple questions about my bill, but when I was calling back to verify that was the right phone number to save in my phone I’m getting this message.
There’s nothing wrong that I need to talk with them but now that I’ve got this message, I obviously do need to talk to them because there’s something wrong.
So anyone seen this before and what’s the deal?
I tried again re-dialing and still didn’t work. Tried another Mediacom number and didn’t work.

Question by Toke’s Up: How often do you type something here on Y!A that you would never say in real life?
Examples of phrases I’ve used here that I never ever could have imagined using elsewhere:
“I would rather my partner cheat on me”
“Short Bus of America is absolutely correct” {out of context of the original Q, I can’t even imagine a meaning}
And my personal favourite:
“Thank you, Chloroform Dating Service” {the mental image that brings to mind, sheesh}
Feel free to post your own examples.

Online Dating Services Single: Am I the Only Man Who Is or Has Been in This Unique Situation Before With Regards to Dating and Marriage?
Question by The Mysterious One: Am I the only man who is or has been in this unique situation before with regards to dating and marriage?
I had asked a similar question before on Y/A, but I was NOT clear enough the first time around so please forgive me if this seems redundant. So, long story short, I USED TO BE in the Marine Corps. In other words, I am NO LONGER in the military anymore. With that said, I got stationed in one of the Marine Corps WORST duty stations in Jax, NC. In Jax, NC, the male to female ratio is roughly 8 men to every 1 single woman so dating was out of the question for me. The only “single” women in Jax, NC were in reality cheating Marine wives and I refused to do that. Moreover, unlike most veterans, I didn’t get to grow up in the same town my entire life. Most married male Marines that I knew ended up marrying their hometown sweetheart and I didn’t get to have one because I was moved around so much. So, now I am in my late 20s and am working on my undergraduate degree. The women my age in college don’t want anything to do with me due to my age and veterans’ status. Moreover, I have tried online dating in order to meet women closer to my own age, but they want nothing to do with me. The women who are closer to my own age look at me as a loser because they can’t understand why I am as old as I am and I am just now getting my undergraduate degree and don’t have a professional career like they do. Moreover, they don’t want to and/or can’t understand that not everyone comes from a loving / supportive family who can afford to put their children thru college. When I raised my hand and swore in on active duty I knew that I was signing my life away to the government for five years. However, I did NOT realize that I was, in essence, THROWING away and/or FU**ING up my entire life. I didn’t want to die all alone, but it appears that I will now because of ONE, just ONE, foolish decision that I made as a naive 18 year old. If I had known in advance that joining the service would have derailed my entire life and would prevent me from being able to successfully find a mate then I would have NEVER joined the Marine Corps as it has turned out to be the biggest mistake of my adult life!
